The sales script is essential for making sales.
It is also essential that a salesperson learns how to not use the script to make sales. It’s a guide, a platform to speak from.
Humans seek human connection; if you can sell someone following exactly the sales script, then I’m not sure that’s the type of person you’d want to work with.
Sales is about genuinely trying to solve people’s problems. The script can’t help you with this.
The script is a series of lines and words that have been shown to get a reaction from humans; it’s a tool to help you speak clearly, but it is not the solution to someone’s problem.
As usual, making a true human connection is both hard and scary AND essential to help people.
But the reward will be worth it.
You might even make a sale at the end of it.
